Albany Park is one of the denser neighborhoods on the Northwest Side, with a large stock of 1920s vintage courtyard apartment buildings and walk-up flats alongside blocks of brick bungalows. The courtyard buildings carry large low-slope roof areas with internal drains and masonry parapets; the bungalows carry the standard shallow hipped roof with wide eaves.
